This is a great local campout... if the weather is good, all the better! If it rains... arghhh!
Sasquatch Provincial Park is near Harrison Hot Springs, an hour and half from Vancouver. We will be camping in the Hicks Lake Campground.
As is the usual, we will have a pot luck Saturday night at 5:30! There is no good available covered area, so we build our own from patio canopies tied together if needed. Site location for the Pot Luck is to be determined based who has space at their site and would like to have it there. Bring a dish of your choosing. If you can bring a table and canopy that would be welcome too. IT'S ALWAYS FUN !!!
Dogs kept on leash and not at the pot luck please.
Looking forward to camp fire and conversation.
The Host is John Seehorn. He has posted this and several other events for the year in December of 2019. He plans to attend all of the events but does not guarantee it. Check Facebook page WetWesties - The Pacific Northwest VW Camping Society for details, questions, updates and to put yourself on the "Who's going" list if you like. This event will also be posted on WetWesties.org in the calendar section. Feel free to pass on links of this event to your favorite site. We hope to see you there!
See you there!
|Camp - WA - Cresap Bay Campground||No duration||Hello WetWestie Family,
We had such a great event last year that we are posting the second annual Lake Merwin event. The covered area with a large fire pit offered the perfect setting for morning coffee, the Saturday potluck, and conversation late into each evening. I was pleasantly surprised to find electricity and a sink with running water in the covered area, bring on the crockpots! Saturday offered a beautiful day for some amazing water time. The paddleboards, Hobie Cat, and ski boat offered a chance to check out the beautiful lake. Sunday brought the rain, but the large covered area kept us dry and the fire kept us warm. I am looking forward to introducing more people to this great venue.
We have reserved the group area at Cresap Bay Campground for September 25th-27nd, 2020. It is in Amboy, Washington which is about 24 miles east of Woodland. It is a beautiful lake and a very nice campground. We will have a covered picnic area for our Saturday night potluck. No hookups, but we do have a private restroom with showers. It is a PacifiCorp campground with gates that open at 7 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. The cost is $20 per night, no reservations needed. Each vehicle over 15 will be charged a $5 fee at the gate. That will not be in addition to the $20 per night. Any money above the fee will go to the Pay It Forward Fund. The gate opens at 7 AM and closes at 9 PM. Did you catch that Markus? Yes, the campground policy is to not have alcohol. This did not stop us from enjoying our beverages. We kept them covered and never had an issue, so don't let that keep you away.
Weather permitting, we will bring the boat, water skis, wakeboard, and paddleboards for some water fun.
From the I-5 Woodland, Washington Exit #21 take Highway 503 East, approximately 24 miles, turn right at 503 South, drive approximately 3 miles to Cresap.
