|Camp - WA - Bay View II||No duration||Great news for WetWesties that love Bay View State Park! In additional to usual Bay View SP campout hosted by Larry Pauls (March 17, 18, & 19th 2017) this year there will be a second and FREE Bay View campout on April 8th and 9th.
Any WetWesties that would would like to camp for FREE in the back campground while assisting the park staff with the Bay View State Park annual Spring clean up is welcome to attend. This is a fairly light duty clean up, we'll be directed by Ranger Laurie as to what needs to be done, bring a shovel and rake and perhaps a pair of gloves.
There will be a traditional WetWesties potluck on Saturday night and Ranger Laurie will be bringing her famous chili.
Water is available and the restrooms are open but FREE camping will be limited to "standard" campsites numbered 31 to 76 in the back area. There are no water or power hook ups in the standard sites.
About Bay View State Park:
Bay View State Park is a 25-acre camping park with 1,285-feet of saltwater shoreline on Padilla Bay. Over 11,000-acres of Padilla Bay are designated as National Estuarine Sanctuary. Breazeale Padilla Bay Interpretive Center is located a half mile north of the park.
The park offers views of the San Juan Islands fronting Padilla Bay, one of 28 existing national marine estuaries. On clear days, park users see the Olympic Mountains to the west and Mt. Rainier to the south.
