Bayview State Park Camp Out
Bayview State Park is located on Padilla Bay between Burlington and Anacortes, WA.
Sites 10 - 38 are set up in an open sunny circle surrounding a grassy field.
Last year they did not allow us to park two vans to a site. It is best to reserve your site early if you want to attend. Some years the reservation website shows all 75 sites will be open and reservable for this weekend, but the back ones (40 to 75) are typically muddy, so the best sites to reserve are 10 - 38.
Campfires are OK. Power is available.
The Pot Luck is Saturday at 6 PM (sunset is 7:15) There is no good available covered area, so we build our own from patio canopies tied together if needed. Site location for the Pot Luck is to be determined based who has space at their site and would like to have it there. Bring a dish of your choosing. If you can bring a table and canopy that would be welcome too. IT''S ALWAYS FUN !!!
Less than a mile to the north is Padilla Bay National Saltwater Estuary Reserve. To the south is an easy trail along the dike system on the water suitable for walking or biking.
Note that the standard practice of the WetWesties is that RSVP's are not expected, nor required.
We don't know who is showing up, head counts, etc. So this is your formal invitation. We like to see familiar faces as well as new ones and hope to see yours. If you don't reserve early you may not get a spot.
Check Facebook page WetWesties - The Pacific Northwest VW Camping Society for details, questions, updates and to put yourself on the "Who's going" list. This event will also be posted on WetWesties.org in the calendar section. We hope to see you there!
